哪些词可以表示“绿色”?

随着生态文明提升为国家战略，绿色发展亦渐成共识。对外宣传工作中，经常碰到“绿色”一词，这个词的英文只能使用汉英词典提供的那两个词吗？

原文：下大力气推进绿色发展、循环发展、低碳发展

译文：make every effort to promote a green，circular，and low-carbon economy

点评：汉语原文似乎言说的是三种发展，而英文则将其综合而为一种经济的三个特点。“绿色”一词直译，显非颜色之谓，实指环保。所幸，英文中的green也有这样的义项：concerned with the protection of the environment;supporting the protection of the environment as a political principle。估计所有译者都喜欢这样完全对应的英汉语汇，再如：

以绿色、智能、泛在为特征的群体性技术革命a green，intelligent，andubiquitous technological revolution;

追求绿色低碳发展pursue green low-carbon development;

建设生态文明：绿色变革与转型——绿色产业、绿色城镇、绿色消费引领可持续发展Building Eco Civilization：Green Transformation and Transition-Green Industry，Green Urbanization and Green Consumption-led SustainableDevelopment;注意，这个标题中的“城镇”确切意指“城镇化”。

当然，像其他汉语词汇一样，译者没有必要逢“绿”必green，有时也需要直抒“环保”原义，例如：

原文：主政浙江期间，习近平推动了“平安浙江”“绿色浙江”“法治浙江”和海洋强省建设。

译文：In Zhejiang，xi Jinping stressed provincial development in the fields ofpublic security，the environment，culture，the rule of law and the marine economy.

点评：为了照顾英文读者的阅读习惯，英文采用了直白的“环境”一词，巧递“绿色”本意。

日常生活中，我们也经常碰到有关“绿色”的说法，比如：绿色环保可降解购物袋environment-friendly and biodegradable shopping bag，绿色能源environment-friendly energy或green energy，绿色产品green product、environment-friendly product甚或eco-friendly product。足見，“绿色”之“环境友好”“生态友好”趋向，已是不同语言人群的共识。因此，汉英翻译实践中，在不同语境下，译者可以选择使用green、environment-friendly或eco-friendly。遗憾的是，一般的汉英词典在“绿色”词目下，仅列出前两个，而eco-friendly，尽管语义贴切，却毫无踪影。
